Dear Reader:
On February 1, 1961 I started Stuart Klabin and Company, Inc. in Inglewood, CA. My vision was to create an open office environment with total staff collaboration in an effort to completely support our clients’ industrial and office real estate needs.
I added my first associate in 1963 and have since grown to a substantial sales and support staff. Their contributions in terms of client relationships, honesty, integrity and diligence have allowed the firm to prosper. In 1981 our name changed to The Klabin Company, and in 1989 we opened a second office in Torrance to better serve our clients.
Our partners, salespeople and staff give us energy, innovation, imagination and strong perseverance in serving our valued clients. David Prior, who succeeded me as President and CEO in 1993, directs the company, which continues to thrive under his leadership.
Being a founder of the American Industrial Real Estate Association (A.I.R.), a longtime member of The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (S.I.O.R.), and Corporate Facility Advisors (CORFAC International) has established The Klabin Company as a prominent participant in our market enjoying wonderful relationships with our clients and colleagues.
A large percentage of our transactions are negotiated cooperatively with other brokerage firms and we greatly value these long-term relationships. Individuals within our company have chosen to pursue development and investment real estate opportunities and our experience in these areas help us to better advise our clients. We were one of the first firms to have connectivity through a shared network and consider ourselves early adapters of technology. Our hard work as well as our brokerage relationships have made us a vital force in our market and, through CORFAC, provided a basis for national and international transactions.
