Refurbished Rancho Dominguez, CA Industrial Property Unveiled;
Reflects Ongoing Trend Toward Logistics Re-Use

RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, CA – A 98,895 square foot industrial property in Rancho Dominguez, CA originally built in the 1970s for Boise Cascade Co. has been totally refurbished and unveiled as “a building for now and for the future” for the burgeoning logistics industry in Los Angeles’ South Bay region, announces The Klabin Company, a member of CORFAC International. The property is immediately available for lease.
David Prior, SIOR, president of The Klabin Company, reports that a veteran South Bay investor/developer re-developed the property located on 5.5 acres at 2851 Las Hermanas, and engaged Prior and Murray Smith of Klabin’s Torrance office as exclusive marketing agents.
“After developing the site as a build-to-suit for Boise Cascade, the owner came to us a year ago after the termination of that lease to establish a strategy for the property’s use in a dramatically changed South Bay business environment intimately connected with port activities,” said Prior. “The property had inadequate truck yards for modern logistics use which had to be addressed.”
Prior explained that his firm, with the assistance of local architect John Cataldo, advanced a plan calling for the demolishing of 40,000 square feet of the original building and re-developing the property for logistics use.
The refurbished concrete tilt-up building now features a new 30-position truck dock, with 46 total truck high positions, and a 195-foot concrete yard. “These are state-of-the-art for today’s container logistics storage industry, and the property is now ideally positioned to serve that industry today and for the future,” Prior said. Other features of the sprinklered building include 11,735 square feet of office space, 21-foot minimum clear height, 24-hour access, security fencing and immediate access to the ports and major freeways.
